This concept is pretty simple because all you have to do is contact another marketer in your niche who also has an e-mail list and you agree to perform a simple swap so that both of you can receive additional subscribers.

You would send an e-mail to your list promoting the other marketer's opt in list, and he or she would do the same for you.

This is generally a simple and effective way to add subscribers to your list, but you need to keep some precautions in mind. If at all possible, you should verify that the other marketer has the number of subscribers claimed. Otherwise, you could be wasting your time even though no real damage will have been done.

For best results, you should contact marketers who have roughly the same number of subscribers as you do in order to make the whole process worthwhile for both of you.

If you have 500 subscribers, for example, and the other marketer has 1000 subscribers, you might still be able to work out an arrangement if you are willing to send two e-mails to your list in order to make up for the difference. If you don't currently have any subscribers but still want to participate in the swaps, you need to build a list of at least a few hundred subscribers as quickly as possible in order to be taken seriously.

The fastest way to achieve this would be to use some paid advertising such as pay per click campaigns so you can begin participating in ad swaps as soon as possible.

What is the Different between Ad Swaps and Solo Ads ?

Ad Swaps - Ad swaps are very similar to solo ads except instead of paying for clicks with money, you are exchanging clicks for clicks. For example, I mail my list to your offer until you receive 1,000 clicks, and you mail your list to my offer until I receive 1,000 clicks.

This is a really great and affordable way to grow your list if you don’t mind sharing leads. You of course need to have an email list first, so it might be a good idea to start with solo ads and move to ad swaps later if you’re starting from scratch.

You’re probably going to get less quality leads from ad swaps than you are solo ads, yet it’s still a good indication of whether your sales funnel will convert traffic into sales, and that’s what’s necessary to profit with ad swaps, because you’re not promoting anything that’s going to be making money directly to your list; you’re promoting someone else’s squeeze page, so you’re relying on the traffic coming from the JV partner’s list to your sales funnel.

Depending on your sales funnel, you can do ad swaps every single day if you want to, become the master of ad swaps and just tweak your sales funnel and have very good business there.   You don’t want to over complicate marketing. This kind of thinking is really profitable if you could get super focused.

The thing about ad swaps is that it is getting less effective because seeing that it emerged around 2009, that’s when everyone was discovering ad swaps and starting to do it. Now people are over-mailing their lists with ad swaps. They’re doing way more ad swaps so they’re getting less responses from the subscribers. That said, its still very much worth the effort.

 Retention rates are going down, click thru rates are steady, but if you still want to generate hundred’s of leads per day, you still can do that. The key to profiting from ad swaps is the same key to profiting withsolo ads, which is your sales funnel. So if you’ve got a good sales funnel, you can use it for your ad swaps. Also, ad swaps are a great way to test your sales funnel before you start buying something like solo ads.
