Second Time Newbie Daddy
Feels like a Noob Again
On June 10th, 2013 (almost 2 weeks ago) my son Ivan Maximus Chiong was born.
Being that I already have a daughter Esmeralda Jolie Chiong born October 23, 2010 ( she is now 2 yrs and change) this should be easy to do. Or one would think it would be easy to take care of a newborn baby. Some people (like myself - a newbie daddy) have difficulty with newborns like giving them a bath or doing other things ( that with their delicate little bodies) you must be extremely careful.
Well anyway here we are again:
1) changing pampers every 2 hrs
2) waking up at night every 2-3 hrs to give him a bottle of formula or breast-milk.
3) making sure the baby has been burped after the feeding
4) sterilizing all of the bottles the baby uses or getting the bottles ready in the bottle warmer
5) Getting the diaper bag readily stuffed with a change of clothes, diapers, diaper cream, wipes, changing pad, burp cloths, bibs, mittens, bottles, formula, breast milk, the list goes on and on....
6) Remembering to put a bib on during feedings so that baby doesn't spill milk all over himself when he spits up.
7) Remember to put a burp cloth on myself so I don't get milk all over myself when baby spits up.
8) That damm wipe container is always open due to a jammed wipe near the opening!!!
So What's Different This Time Around ?
1) Boys tend to eat a lot more so he eats and eats and eats - then burps and burps and burps - releases gases and poops alot more than my first kid. She never ate as much as he did at only 2 weeks old.
2) With Girls when you are changing their pamper they don't tend to pee like they are aiming for your face. This time around in only 2 weeks I have gotten peed on like 10 times already. I bought this thingie that you put on his thingie ( looks like a football) and its supposed to prevent a leaky wee-wee from hitting daddy's face. (See pic of the thingie below)
3) This one likes to cry everytime we change his pamper - don't think boys like being clean like girls do but he will cry because he is wet or poopy and then cry even more when we are trying to clean him
4) THIS TIME THERE'S TWO OF THEM - a toddler in her Terrible Two's and a crying hungry newborn baby both seeking attention..
WHAT TO EXPECT WHEN YOU'RE EXPECTING (THE FIRST YEAR) - My wife bought this book the last time around - I never read it, maybe I should.. : ) because I still freak out or get nervous over little things that daddies must do.
