How to Sign up for Google Adsense in 5 minutes
The most important thing for success with Google AdSense is having a website or blog with great content that delights and excites your users - before you apply to AdSense, check that your site has interesting and original content. And of course, you need visitors too, or no one will see your ads, so make sure that people know about your site before you place ads on it.
STEP 1 - Submit Application for Google Adsense
There are some rules about what kind of content is acceptable which you should read. We've also put together these helpful tips for application success. When you're ready Sign up Now:
NOTE: If your website is on one of Google's host partner sites (like Blogger, YouTube, or Hubpages, among many others), you should sign up through your account there - these sites follow a different application process.
Step 2 - Verify Your Information
Google checks the information in your application (your name, address, URL of your website or blog, etc.) and send you an email regarding the status of your application within one day.
- If your application is not approved, you'll receive an email explaining the disapproval reason and the possible next steps that you can take.
Step 3 - Create and Place Ads on Your Site
Once Google has verified your information, it's time for you to create your first ad unit and place the ad code on the URL that you provided in your application. Make sure to place your ad code on a webpage that receives traffic. You'll only see blank ad units on your site until you've passed the second review and we fully activate your AdSense account. You'll also see a red bar across the top of your account saying that you're still under review.
Creating a New Adsense Ad Unit
- Name: Provide a unique name and description that will help you find this ad unit later.
- Ad size: In general, wider ad units perform better. We encourage you to choose one of our recommended ad sizes, which have shown to perform well across a variety of sites.
- Ad type: We encourage you to display both text and image ads. By displaying more ad types, you can earn more revenue.
- Backup ads: When no targeted ads are available, you can choose to display another ad or color instead.
- Custom channels: Custom channels are an advanced feature that you can use to group specific ad units together. Learn more about custom channels.
- Ad style: Choose an ad style that complements your page. (View tips.) You can also set a different font face, font size, and corner style, or just use Google defaults.
6) Click Save and get code.
7) Choose the code type that you want to use:
- To use the current AdSense ad code, leave the code type set to "Synchronous."
- If you want to use the new asynchronous ad code, select "Asynchronous BETA" from the Code type drop-down.
- If you've chosen to create a responsive ad unit, you won't see the Code type drop-down in the “Ad code” box. Responsive ad units only use asynchronous ad code.
8) Copy and paste the ad code into the HTML source code of your pages where you'd like ads to appear. If you're not sure how to do this, you might want to review our Code Implementation Guide.
9) Once you've saved your website, ads will appear within a few minutes. If you need to change the settings of this ad unit in the future, you can edit it from the list of content ads under the My ads tab.

Step 4 - Second Review of your Application
Once Google's systems detect that you've placed the ad code on a live page, they automatically continue the review process and check that your site complies with their policies. When they've completed the second review, they send you an email letting you know the status of your application. This process can take up to a week so if you don't see ads after you've placed the code then you know why.
Your AdSense account is now fully activated. The red bar across the top of your account is gone and within a few hours you’ll begin to see live ads.
If your application is not approved at this stage, you'll receive an email explaining the disapproval reason and the possible next steps that you can take.
Step 5 - Account is now fully Approved & Activated
Your AdSense account is now fully activated. The red bar across the top of your account is gone and within a few hours you’ll begin to see live ads.
It is highly recommend that you take full advantage of the AdSense Academy, which Google has created to help you run a successful AdSense account
